Home from Cuba

Well we have returned from the great warmth of Cuba and now into the minus 18 degree snow country ! What is wrong with us anyway! Its torture here!
Our 3 star resort ended up being not bad at all , of course if i had paid a thousand for a week i may not be as happy as i am but it only cost total of 550. each for the week!I can't even go to toronto for the weekend and eat out and stay in a hotel for that!
The food was great, lots to choose from. Your really have to like Rum and beer in order to drink your 500. dollars worth though. We managed to pay off a guy to make us some mohito's on day as everyone claims they don't have mint, and we got a couple of pina colada's but they really weren't that good, I stuck to Rum punch , a little sweet but not too bad!
The rooms were very old but the mattress was new and the shower was good, always hot water.The staff was continually cleaning.
We met lots of people that had been there for the 24th time! I think we were the Newbies!
Mostly retired but a few younger people from Quebec, The plane arrives from Quebec on saturday and from ontario on thursday!
Its amazing how they live , we are very lucky to not live in a communist country , i am not sure i could be as happy as them if i lived in that situation.
Any way it was a great trip and very relaxing , i would recommend it to anyone that isn't fussy about the oldness of the resort, and the limited amount to do.
There is no shopping at all! The good thing about that is you don't spend any money.
For 100 canadian i got in return 74 CUC
Spent it all in tips and the beach trip which cost 24 cuc.
Beautiful beach , nice warm temp around 28 to 30c
Sucks to go back to work on monday, but then again i am going to Florida March the 5 th for a week so i need to save again!!!
